Search engine submission is very easy and you can submit your site to the major search engines in all of 10 to 15 minutes. There are services that claim to submit your site to hundreds or thousands of search engines. We don’t recommend such services because automated submissions can get your site removed from search engines. And you can do it yourself as fast as ordering their service.
- Google (about 69% of all searches): https://www.google.com/webmasters/tools/submit-url
- Bing (about 27% of all searches): http://www.bing.com/toolbox/submit-site-url
Google powers AOL search and Bing powers Yahoo. So just submitting your site to google and bing gets you 96% of the searches. Ask.com has about 3% of the market. Ask doesn’t accept submissions so to get on ask their bot must find your site. That covers 99% of all web searches.
So why do the submission services exist? They simply exist to make money. In my opinion they offer very little if any true value.
